The City of Lebanon Wastewater
Treatment Plant was constructed in1963, with additional construction to expand its
capacity in 1979. The plant services six municipalities; City of Lebanon, Cleona Borough,
North Cornwall, North Lebanon, South Lebanon and West Lebanon Townships. The total service
area is approximately 6,100 acres. The City of Lebanon maintains approximately 70 miles of
waste collection sewers and main lines. The City also provides maintenance services for
some of the municipalities that use the Wastewater Treatment Plant. |

The Lebanon Water Treatment Plant,
completed in 1972, is owned by the City of Lebanon Authority and is operated
and maintained by the City under a lease agreement. The facilities have a capacity of 1.18
billion gallons storage capacity from the Christian E. Siegrist Dam and the Swatara Creek.
Water treated at this modern regional plant serves approximately 43,000 people and
commercial and industrial establishments in the City of Lebanon and 6 surrounding
communities.
A 3
million gallon storage tank on Evergreen Road, serves the South side of the City. Besides
the City of Lebanon proper, the Bureau serves portions of Cleona and Jonestown Boroughs as
well as the townships of Annville, North Cornwall, South Annville, South Lebanon, Swatara,
Union and West Lebanon. In addition, the Bureau of Water serves Indiantown Gap Military
Reservation, the Palmyra Water Company and Bunker Hill Water Company.
The
Sand Hill Tank, built in 1968, serves areas on the North side of Lebanon with a
540,000-gallon tank.
The Myerstown
Water Authority secures its water from wells and supplies water to approximately
16,040 families in Myerstown Borough and Jackson Township.

UGI
Utilities, Inc. has offices at 1233 Cumberland
Street, Lebanon. This is a district office under Harrisburg Area jurisdiction which serves
residential, commercial and large industrial customers in the Lebanon Valley with natural
gas for over 100 years, but not until 1954 when the Texas Eastern Gas transmission lines
crossed the county was natural gas made available. Since that time, UGI has expanded
service to cover the heating and air conditioning needs of an ever increasing number of
individuals, as well as shopping plazas and industry.

GPU
Energy, 600 S. 5th Avenue, Lebanon provides electricity to approximately 48,000
residential customers in Lebanon County, as well as the countless industries located here.
Parts of Berks, Dauphin and Lancaster counties are also serviced by the Lebanon division.
