Voter Registration
 | TO VOTE IN PENNSYLVANIA, YOU MUST BE REGISTERED |
Individuals possessing the following qualifications are entitled to register to vote:
They will be at least eighteen years of age on the day of the next election.
They will have been a citizen of the United States for at least one month prior to the
next election.
They will have resided in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and in their election
district for at least thirty days prior to the next election.

Under the Pennsylvania Voter Registration Act of 1995, persons applying for a driver's
license or renewal or change of address at the Motor Vehicle Boards will automatically be
registered to vote unless they so decline. Also, persons served by public assistance
offices, the marriage license bureau, military recruiting offices and offices with
state-funded programs for the disabled will be asked to register to vote.
Mail registration forms will be available at post offices, libraries, municipal
buildings and party offices. You may also appear at the Voter Registration Office, Room
209, Municipal Bldg., Lebanon.
After your registration is processed, you will receive an acknowledgement notice from
the Voter Registration Office stating your pertinent registration information and your
polling place.
The election law prohibits removal of a voter's name from the rolls simply for not
voting. A voter's name may be removed for the following reasons:
Upon the death of the elector as reported by the Department of Health
At the request of the elector.
Upon confirmation that the elector has moved outside the country.
In accordance with one of the two voter removal programs.
 | ABSENTEE BALLOTS Any registered voter who
is unable to vote at their polling place because of illness or absence from the county,
may apply in person, or in writing, to the Voter Registration Office, Municipal Building,
Lebanon, PA 17042, to request an application for an absentee ballot. This application must
be returned before the absentee ballot is issued. The absentee ballot may be obtained no
earlier than 50 days and no later than 7 days before the primary or election days. The
ballot must be returned to the County Board of Elections before 5 P.M. on the Friday
before the election. |
